$1.3 million match from St. David's Foundation to make Austin a healthier community

After the success of Amplify Austin Day 2018, which raised over $10.3 million for 700+ nonprofits in Central Texas, I Live Here I Give Here (ILHIGH) is pleased to announce St. David’s Foundation has pledged to donate $1.3 million in matching funds during ILHIGH’s seventh annual Amplify Austin event, which is slated to take place February 28 through March 1, 2019.

Amplify Austin Day is the city of Austin and the Central Texas region’s annual day of giving. The 24-hour period provides an easy and fun way for the entire community to give together while helping local nonprofits.

Amplify Austin is an initiative designed to increase philanthropy in Central Texas through online giving for hundreds of Central Texas nonprofits during a single 24-hour period. The seventh annual Amplify Austin Day event is scheduled to run from 6 p.m. on Thursday, February 28 through 6 p.m. on Friday, March 1, 2019. Givers can plan ahead for Amplify Austin Day and schedule their donations now to their favorite nonprofits. Those interested in giving can find nonprofits located in specific counties or areas and also search for causes important to them on AmplifyATX.org.

Over the past six years, Amplify Austin has raised over $45 million for hundreds of local organizations. This year, the goal is to raise over $11 million in one day for over 700 nonprofits across seven Central Texas counties—Travis, Hays, Williamson, Burnet, Bastrop, Caldwell, and Blanco—which builds upon the success and amazing community support received during last year’s 24-hour fundraising campaign. In 2018, Amplify Austin Day hit its goal of raising over $10.3 million in one day, including 62,000+ individual donations.

“Amplify Austin embodies the essence of community and of pulling together to improve the lives of all Central Texans,” says Earl Maxwell, CEO of St. David’s Foundation.

Additionally, the new $1 million in donated funds from St. David’s Foundation will be distributed on a prorated basis to over 60 nonprofit grant partners that participate in Amplify Austin Day. These grant partners were, in fact, responsible for raising over $4.1 million during last year’s campaign. St. David Foundation’s commitment this year brings the total matching contributions to more than $6.8 million over the past seven campaigns, since Amplify Austin Day’s inception in 2013.

As a part of its sizable contribution, St. David's Foundation has also committed to matching donations (up to $300K total) to the I Live Here I Give Here Fund, which rewards all participating nonprofits with incentive dollars. St. David’s Foundation hopes to motivate other foundations and companies to support this community-wide effort by matching their contributions to the fund. Tito’s Handmade Vodka, Silicon Labs, Texas Mutual Insurance Company, Bazaarvoice, Howry Breen & Herman, LLP, and Eric Copper - Austin Portfolio Real Estate have already committed major funds to the I Live Here I Give Here Fund which will, in turn, be matched by St. David’s Foundation.

The I Live Here I Give Here Fund, is distributed on a prorated basis to all nonprofits participating in Amplify Austin Day. Donors will have the option to contribute to the overall I Live Here I Give Here Fund in their checkout cart to support all 700 nonprofits and have those dollars matched by St. David’s Foundation (up to $300k total).

ILHIGH would like to personally thank all of the sponsors helping make this year’s Amplify Austin Day event possible, including major sponsors Tito’s Handmade Vodka, Silicon Labs, Texas Mutual Insurance Company, Bazaarvoice, Howry Breen & Herman, LLP, and Eric Copper - Austin Portfolio Real Estate, BB&T, Toler Law Group, Bryan Anthonys, Cirrus Logic, Messer Design and Construction, NXP Semiconductors, Shield-Ayres Foundation, and Lee and Roger Kintzel.
