The BIG Give is I LIVE HERE, I GIVE HERE’s annual celebration of the act of giving and receiving and those nonprofit organizations who do it well.  The BIG Prize of a $10,000 grant is awarded to a nonprofit agency after completing a two-part, online contest first, to identify the nonprofit organization that receives the most votes from their donor community and secondly, to identify the agency with the most support of its donor relations practice as defined by:

•    Making each “ask” personalized
•    Thanking each donor promptly and in a meaningful way upon receipt of the gift
•    Communicating the impact of each gift
•    Using innovative techniques to communicate with and engage donors

In 2009, I LIVE HERE, I GIVE HERE’s BIG Give celebrating the act of giving and receiving and those nonprofit organizations who do it well was held in October at the Austin City Limits Studio. The evening was filled with friends, great music by two fabulous bands, T-Bird and the Breaks and Ted Roddy and the King Conjure Orchestra,  BBQ by Mueller’s, a silent auction, dancing and excitement over the winner of the BIG Prize for excellence in donor relations -- a $10,000 grant to Hospice Austin.  The two runners-up were the Girl Scouts of Central Texas & the Texas Star Fair and Rodeo.  We appreciate the donors to these three organizations who participated in the online contest in support of their favorite nonprofit.  We wish to thank our BIG Give Committee members and especially our Sponsors!
